Arequipa
A city where modernity and culture merged together, the second city in importance in Peru, and its impressive Colonial architecture is the most outstanding around the country, peculiar as well due to it’s Sillar constructions which is a Volcanic white stone that has given Arequipa the name of “The White City”.
Arequipa, is surrounded by 3 volcanoes: “Misti”, “Chachani” and “the Pichu Pichu”, valleys and the colorfull countryside garnish its surroundings, and its Historical Center where the mestizo art that is fusioned with the architecture can be appreciated. Its majestic Cathedral, beautiful convents as the “Santa Catalina Convent”, its churches and parks, mansions and gardens, make this city a unique experience and it is due to Arequipa’s Historical Value the reason why UNESCO declare it Humanity’s Cultural Heritage. Very close to our city is located the “Colca” canyon one of the deepest in the world.
